Gang violence is a community issue. The solutions have to be too.
The National Gang Reduction Center® provides research-based strategies for reducing gang and gang-related crime — through community strategic planning, training on reduction strategies, and hands-on technical assistance.
Traditional approaches centered around intelligence gathering and enforcement are necessary — but they haven't proven effective on their own. Gangs are a deep-rooted cultural and community issue, and addressing them requires a multilayered approach that involves everyone: law enforcement, community leaders, service providers, families, and young people themselves.
Our methods are based on research and evaluation, with proven results in communities across the country.
