In most preventable incidents, the problem was never intent.
It is uncertainty, curiosity, peer pressure, panic, or simply not knowing what to do under stress. Many children have never been given the language or the practice to respond safely in the moment.

Ellie notices what others miss. She teaches firearm safety, showing children how to spot an unsafe situation and what to do in the seconds that follow. Her three rules are the core of the lesson.

Every grade band learns the same three rules. They are short on purpose, so a child under stress can recall them without thinking.
Leave It Alone
Do not touch it. Do not investigate it. Even if it looks old, unloaded, or like a toy.
Leave the Area
Move to a safe place, and take others with you.
Tell a Trusted Adult
Find an adult and tell them right away. Getting help is the goal, not solving it yourself.
